At the 8th International Researching Work and Learning Conference, hosted by the University of Stirling last month, a new book in the Knowledge Economy and Education Book Series (Sense Publishers) was launched. Volunteer Work, Informal Learning and Social Action, edited by Fiona Duguid, Karsten Mundel and Daniel Schugurensky, explores the connections between volunteer work and informal learning in various sectors: cooperatives, social housing, voluntary organisations, social movements, and the labour market.
