This seminar will be a timely opportunity to discuss priorities for food security in the UK - and Britain’s role in helping meet global challenges.
Delegates will assess challenges facing UK food security and recommendations to be released in the EFRA Committee's upcoming third report - as well as opportunities for improving the development and implementation of the UK Agricultural Technologies Strategy, the impact of the Met Office's new long range forecasting service for the food sector, and emerging options for improving the sustainability of UK farming.
They will also examine latest thinking on current challenges facing food security globally, the role of international collaboration in promoting food security, EU agricultural priorities under the new Commission, and wider food security challenges beyond the EU.
