Educational Peacebuilding model in Medellin and Acapulco

This report summarizes the main findings of the "Educational Peacebuilding in Medellin and Acapulco: Understanding the role of education, culture and learning in responding to crises" project. The document includes the methodological approach and action plan that guided this research project.

It also comprises the challenges we encountered in building day-to-day peace in Acapulco from a bottom-up perspective drawing from focus groups and semi-structured interviews with a diversity of stakeholders in Acapulco. The research project contributes to the understanding that non-formal education, learning, and culture are transformational resources in building more cohesive societies in cities facing urban crime and violence challenges. This report aims to support the notion of the "Acapulco we want" that embraces the elements, factors, stakeholders and circumstances that can contribute to longstanding peace in the port city of Acapulco.
