Margaret Sutherland speaks to Slovenian press

During a recent visit to Slovenia, CR&DALL Deputy Director Margaret Sutherland shared her views on a number of educational matters. For those of you adept in Slovenian two newspaper reports are attached. For those who are not these summaries my be useful. In the piece published on 19 September 2014 she shared her views on the kind of Scotland she would like to see in the future regardless of the outcome of the referendum.  This included: fewer people using foodbanks, all children have access to effective, appropriate education, welcoming and valuing all in society with reference to asylum seekers and refugees.

The piece published on 27 September 2014 covers a wide ranging discussion on education including behaviour and homework with the main focus on the place of highly able learners within this and arguing that if we are thinking about an inclusive education system then it has to include this group of learners.
