On Sept 15^th and 16^th 2017, we were delighted to host at the School of Education, University of Glasgow, Professor Rajesh Tandon, the founder-President of PRIA, global participatory research & training centre based in New Delhi, India. PRIA has completed 35 years of work in empowering citizens to claim their rights and organize their own communities. Professor Tandon has also been the UNESCO Co-Chair on Community-Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education since 2012.

The consultation seeks views on the independent review of student support in further and higher education in Scotland, chaired by Jayne-Anne Gadhia. The review and consultation takes place in the wider context of Scottish Government ambitions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the post-16 learner journey and work on Widening Access.

For some years, the Brimbank City Council (on the north west fringe of Melbourne, Australia) has adopted a Community Learning Strategy and produces a bi-monthly e-Newsletter "Celebrating Learning", generated out of Library Services to recognise community initiatives for lifelong learning.

This year the ELOA conference is being co-hosted by Leeds Beckett University, School of Film, Music and Performing Arts and the Association for Education and Ageing.
